You can renew a rating whose validity is about to expire by one year. Submitting an application for renewal of a type rating is only necessary when the type rating has not been endorsed on the back of your Part-FCL licence for helicopters by the examiner. If this is endorsed, you must go to the application page proficiency check and refresher training.
You must submit the following:
After reception of your application, this will be processed as quickly as possible. You will receive the invoice, and possibly a request for supplying additional information by e-mail. After your application is complete and has been paid for, the processing of your application will take approximately 30 working days. After this period, the decision will be sent to you by post or by e-mail. You can find more information about the application process on the Handling of an application and delivery page.
You can select the Express service during the application for issuing a proficiency check. Your application is then given priority. In addition to the product fee, you will pay an additional 25% of the product fee for each Express Service request, with a minimum of € 123,42 (including 21% VAT and delivery by regular mail). Read more about this service on the page Express Service aviation products.
Due to the high number of pending requests it will not be possible to request the Express Service for Part-FCL products. You can only submit an Express Service request if there is a need to urgently issue a certificate or license because of your work. Other Express Service requests will not be processed and will be added to the regular request process. We are doing everything we can to offer the service again as soon as possible.
A class rating is valid for 2 years and the type rating is valid for 1 year. Both ratings can be extended or renewed if the granting requirements or renewed issuing requirements are satisfied.
The tariff for this service is specified by the government in the Regeling tarieven transportsectoren (Dutch). The fee for each issue, renewal or reissue of a rating is € 152.46 (incl. VAT).
When Kiwa Register receives your application, an invoice is sent to you. The payment must be made, at the latest, within four weeks from the date of the invoice. If your employer pays for the costs of the application, you can state this during the application. If you cancel the application, or if your application is negative/is not processed, the costs are not refunded because you are paying for the processing of the application.
